John Fernandez

John Fernandez is an experienced business development strategist and implementer, with the ability to assist clients operating in varied industries, covering the whole ambit from start-up business ventures, pre- and post- commercialisation, through to mature business management and rationalisation. 
John’s career spans some 40 years in finance and public accounting, financial advisory, project management, commercial and manufacturing operations, M&A, venture capital and investment banking.  Most recently, John has advised clients on buy-side and sell-side domestic and cross-border M&A, debt and equity financings, divestitures and recapitalizations.
As well as his corporate advisory responsibilities, John is the managing director of THN Credit Acceptance Pty Limited and an active board member of THN Capital Solutions Pty Limited.  He is a senior member of the THN Investment, Credit and Risk Management Committee and the THN Quality Assurance Committee.
John joined THN in 2014 after co-founding and heading up for over seven years a successful boutique structured finance and venture capital organisation headquartered in Sydney but with operations throughout Australasia.  There he oversaw a diversified private capital advisory platform where he originated, structured and executed a wide variety of privately negotiated equity, structured securities and illiquid portfolio monetization transactions. Projects led by John and his team have included those in the biotechnology, specialty pharma and generics, consumer technology, manufacturing, agribusiness and hotel and leisure industries.
John holds a B.Com, majoring in Finance and Accounting from the University of New South Wales, Sydney and is a Fellow of the Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand.
